Did you do an online search for reviews the last time you made a big (or small) purchase? I know I do. It's a big part of the decision-making process. It's a mental shortcut because even though I don't know that person, I will trust their experience. ❓Nancy Harhut, what kind of behavioral science technique would you say this is?The Financial Brand just published a fantastic article on tactical ideas to get reviews. People often trust people who are similar to themselves more than they trust brands.Why?We believe the brand has a vested interest in saying something good about themselves. But when a customer or member, someone who is much more like us, says something positive, we are more likely to believe it’s true.Behavioral scientists refer to this as social proof. Here’s a testimonial tip, Blue Dragonfly Marketing Strategies Ltd..Chose a customer testimonial or review that begins at a point of skepticism, because that is likely where the reader (the prospective customer) is. If you are reading the reviews, you are still not quite convinced the brand is right for you. And if a review starts with the same concern you have and then the reviewer goes on to say they made a good decision choosing the brand, this can resolve your hesitation.

    That happy dance / happy feeling when you receive great feedback!!On Monday of this week, the survey results came in from the online presentation on #MarketingStrategy which I had done for the Business / Arts in May. Here are a few comments that made me smile extra wide, when asked "What aspects of the workshop were most valuable to you?"♟️ As someone who has not really delved into marketing strategy at all, the workshop made me appreciate the basics of beginning to plan good marketing practices. The presentation was clear and used understandable language for laymen. 🗣️ How articulate the speaker is and the clarity of the framework she presented.🧩 It was broken into bite sized relatable teachings. It was thought provoking on a topic I'm not familiar with. But this is something our organization knows we need to start doing--even if one goal at a time. "As marketers, we often get swept up into the strategy, development, and implementation of a campaign and are so stinkin’ excited when we release it into the wild.
